Make Your Own Hair Masks at Home With Natural Products!

Want to use a hair mask that you know doesn’t have any harsh chemicals? Let’s make our own!

Here are some great fully natural things you can use in your hair as you relax and treat yourself.

1. Avocado

Avocado has so many benefits for your hair and scalp! The fats are not only healthy for your insides, they’re good for your hair too. Vitamins including A, D, E, and biotin are in there. Biotin is great for your hair and can help it to grow! Beyond growth benefits they hydrate, strengthen, and add shine. We had an avocado tree in our backyard growing up and our dog would steal them off tree, eat the skin and fruit and spit out the seeds. while he did get a little chunky, his fur was AMAZING! So soft, silky, and shiny!

How to:

  • Smash up 1 avocado and mix it with a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of olive oil. Work it though damp haid and let it sit for 20-30 minutes before you rise it with warm water.

2. Honey

Honey is great for moisture and preventing different bacterial and fungal growths. If your hair is dry or damaged, it can help retain moisture and add shine and softness.

How to U:

  • Combine 2 tablespoons of honey with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil. Apply to damp hair starting at the ends, if there is more, move your way up toward your scalp, and leave it for 15-20 minutes, rinse with warm water.

3. Aloe Vera

Scalps can get dry no matter where you live. But espeically id you live in a dry climate, especially in the winter months, you NEED this one. Akloe vera cools and soothes. It is full of vitamins A, C, E, and B12, these promote hair growth and treat and prevent dandruff.

How to:

  • Put fresh Aloe vera gel directly onto your scalp and leave it there for 20 minutes and wash it out.

4. Banana

We probably all know that bananas are rich in potassium and other vitamins, but did we know that bananas provide moisture to help dry brittle hair and can help prevent breakage with frequent use? (Like, once a week)

How to:

  • Smash up one ripe banana and mix it witha1 tablespoon of honey and a few drops of olive oil. Put on damp hair, leave it on for 20-30 minutes, before rinsing with warm water.

5. Olive Oil

Olive oil has so many vitamins and antioxidants that help with healthy hair growth and nourish your scalp. Extra moisture can help the texture of your hair as well.

How to:

  • Warm up at least 2 tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to damp hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes before you rinse it out.

For Best Results:

  • Be Consistent: Use these masks once a week to start, you can determine if you should keep using them once a week or space them out more after a few weeks.

  • Patch Test!!: Put a small amount on your skin and leave it for 30 minutes to make sure you are not going to have an allergic reaction having it on your scalp. We DO NOT want any negative affects on your scalp.

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: While you could use a premade mask with these ingredients, we’re trying to go the clean route with these!
