Easy self-care tips you can start using today!
As a busy mom, taking care of your skin can often feel like the last thing on your never-ending to-do list. Between juggling work, kids, household chores, and everything in between, finding the time for a lengthy skincare routine can seem impossible. But fear not, we’ve got you covered with some quick and effective skincare tips to help you look and feel your best, even on the busiest of days.
Cuticle Care
After you shower push gently push your cuticles back on your hands and toes. Just one pass in soft circular motions, and you don’t need a fancy tool! Just use your opposite hand’s thumbnail.
Washing your face
Always wash your face 2 times. The first wash just gets any makeup, dirt, and/or outside pollutants off of your skin. The second wash actually gets you skin clean. Trust me, your face will thank you! Moisturize and sunscreen even if you don’t enjoy makeup. This will act as a barrier for your skin against the sun as well as pollutants in the air and will help your skin stay healthier.
Washing your hair
Same idea as your face, wash it 2 times. The first gets oil, products, and/or outside pollutants off and the second actually gets your hair clean.
Conditioning your hair
If your hair is longer than 2 inches you NEED more than a 2-in-1 shampoo. Your hair is thirsty! The longer the hair gets the older it is and the more hydration it needs. All of the nutrients are in the follicle and the further away the ends get the more help they need.
If you tend to get greasy faster that is generally a good sign that your scalp is getting too dry. Start stretching the time between washes so your scalp doesn't think it needs to produce more oils to protect it. Now, this seems counterintuitive, I get it, but after you put the conditioner in all of the mid-section to ends of your hair, take the conditioner that is left over on your hands and massage it into your roots and scalp. Same idea as extending time between washes, if your scalp isn’t as dry it shouldn’t feel the need to produce so much oil.
Keep your nails looking beautiful longer!
When you do dishes, wear gloves! Polish, gel polish, hard gel, builders, acrylic, whatever you choose, let’s make it last longer! Soaking repeatedly in water causes lifting and chipping. Whether you do them yourself or have someone else, protect your investment.
